Kumeu Book Fair July 6 and 7

Huapai-Kumeu Lions will be running another Book Fair at the Kumeu Community Centre on Saturday July 6 and Sunday July 7, 9am to 1.30pm.

Lions will be assisted by people from Waimauku Scouts for this fair.

The new Scout hall in Waimauku is a fine building and the Lions Club is pleased to have supported its construction over several years by sharing profits from its book fairs.

The usual range of good quality books will be on offer for $2.

A wide range of genres will be displayed, both hard back and soft cover novels, books on gardening, cooking, sports and travel and a range of other subjects and interests. Children’s books with special prices for a bundle of them will be on the hall stage.

A section for vinyl records, CDs and videos is featured.

Payment by eftpos will be available.

Lions are grateful for book donations of good saleable quality.

Magazines, encyclopaedia and tatty books are not wanted as the cost of dumping books impacts profits.

Donated books can be left on the table beside the Lions Room at the Kumeu Community Centre during the fortnight prior to the fair, from Monday June 24 to Friday July 5.

People wanting to dispose of old spectacles may put them in a donation box at the fair. After being tested the glasses are given to visually impaired people living in the Pacific Islands.

Huapai-Kumeu Lions and Waimauku Scouts will run this book fair on the first weekend in July.
